His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated yesterday the Khorfakkan Beach project, the first of its kind on the eastern coast of the Emirates, which was developed by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), in cooperation with a number of government and private agencies.

His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, toured the project, which cost about 95 million dirhams to complete it, and extends to a kilometer along the sea.

His Highness listened to a detailed explanation from those responsible for the project about its facilities, facilities, services and recreational activities that it provides to the residents of the region, visitors and tourists, and the prospects it opens for the growth of the region's economy in general.

His Highness’s tour included watching the marine shows and sand sculptures exhibition.

The total area of ​​the facilities leasing in the project reaches 8235 square feet, as between 30 and 40% of the project has been allocated to entrepreneurs and projects originating from the region, giving them the opportunity to conduct their business.

The project is 20 minutes from Fujairah, 30 minutes from Kalba and 45 minutes from Sharjah.

The project includes a central yard and parking lots for about 350 vehicles, six food carts and four kiosks, 17 commercial units that include restaurants and commercial markets, jogging and cycling tracks, as well as sports fields for soccer and basketball, multi-use sports fields, and a swimming beach that meets all safety standards And there are rescuers and supervisors working in shifts, in addition to places for showers, changing rooms and an open theater overlooking the beach that includes a fountain, where many events and activities will be held.

The project also provides children's play areas that include a range of activities and games and adopt the best safety and security standards, and this region welcomes children within the ages of 4 to 12 years.

The project includes a park dedicated to various water sports near the beach, available to all visitors and water sports enthusiasts, in addition to a number of restaurants, cafes and retail shops with popular and international brands.
