Korea was ranked 19th in the best country for online shopping.

According to the '2019 B2C E-Commerce Index' report released by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, Korea scored 89.4 points, ranking 19th out of 152 countries surveyed.

It was three steps higher than last year.

It is the third highest Asian country after Singapore and Hong Kong.

This is the result of the development meeting evaluating the scores of four categories: online financial account holding rate, internet usage rate, the post office reliability of the Korea Post Union, and internet server security.

The world's friendliest country for online shopping is the Netherlands, ranking 96.4 points last year.

Second place is Switzerland.

The top 10 countries are all European countries except Singapore (3rd) and Australia (10th).

The United States was 13th, while Hong Kong and France were 15th and 16th, respectively.

Japan is 21st, two steps below Korea, and China is 56th.

By category, Korea scored high on 95 and 96 points in the percentage of online financial account holdings and internet usage, respectively.

In particular, the reliability of the UPU post office was 99, the highest after Ireland (100).

However, the overall score was lowered by scoring 67 points on the Internet Server Security category, which assessed the number of secured Internet servers per million population.

South Korea's Internet server security score is higher than the global average (55), but below the developed country average (87).

Of the top 40 countries in total, the United Arab Emirates (65 points) was the only country that scored lower than Korea in this category.
