“Now, as you know, we are negotiating with our Ukrainian partners, they are being held in Vienna, as I see it, there are demanding positions on both sides, frankly, quite difficult to implement,” the president quotes TASS.
As the head of state noted, he expects the negotiators, “and this is, first and foremost, business entities on both sides”, to “find acceptable solutions for them”.
At a press conference earlier, Putin commented on the situation with gas transit through Ukraine.
The head of state reiterated that Moscow is ready to preserve Ukrainian transit.
At the same time, Putin pointed out that the conditions offered by Kiev are so far economically unacceptable for the Russian side.
The situation with transit was also commented on by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who noted that Nord Stream 2 weakened Kiev’s position in the relevant negotiations.
