Dubai Airshow 2019, which concluded yesterday, witnessed orders and memorandums of commitment and purchase agreements for 362 aircraft, where the two companies «European Airbus» and «Boeing» the US, more than 90.3% of the total orders, with 327 commercial aircraft.

Airbus's total orders during the exhibition, which saw 84,43 business visitors visit, totaled 232 aircraft, including an order for 120 Air Arabia planes, including 73 A320neo, 27 A321neo and 20 A321XLR.

Emirates also signed a firm order for 50 A350-900 XWB aircraft worth $ 16 billion (about AED 58.7 billion).

For its part, Senegal Airlines announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding to buy eight aircraft (A220-300).

NAS, Saudi Arabia's economic carrier, has signed an agreement to buy 10 Airbus A321XLRs.

Boeing has announced purchase orders, memoranda of commitment and agreements for the purchase of 95 commercial aircraft valued at $ 17.4 billion (about AED 63.8 billion), according to the current price list.

This included an agreement with Emirates to buy 30 aircraft (787-9 Dreamliner), Air Astana, to buy 30 aircraft (737 MAX 8), and to order 10 Boeing aircraft by Sun Express. In addition, 20 aircraft (737 Max) were ordered by an undisclosed airline. Boeing also announced the order of Biman Bangladesh to buy two 787-9 Dreamliners, as well as a memorandum of understanding with Ghana for the purchase of three 787-9 Dreamliners.

The exhibition witnessed the signing of agreements and letters of intent involving 29 Dash 8-400 aircraft, while Embraer registered two deals involving six aircraft.

Exhibitors, official delegates and sponsors at the Dubai Airshow 2019 said that the exhibition has been a remarkable success at this year's event, with more than 1,288 companies and institutions and 161 aircraft participating in the show.

18 billion dirhams worth of military contracts

The total value of the military contracts signed during the 16th edition of the exhibition reached 18.02 billion dirhams, compared with about 14.7 billion dirhams during the previous session in 2017, the military organizing committee told Dubai Airshow 2019.

The committee revealed, during a press conference held yesterday, in the presence of the Executive Director of the Committee, Major General Tayyar Abdullah Al-Sayed Al-Hashemi, and the Vice-Chairman of the Committee, Major General Tayyar Ishaq Saleh Al-Balushi, that the fourth day (the day before yesterday) of the exhibition witnessed the signing of nine contracts, worth More than AED 211 million.
