Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, discussed with President Ilham Aliyev ways of moving the economic partnership between the UAE and Azerbaijan to new levels.

The two sides stressed the strength of bilateral economic relations and the existence of broad prospects for cooperation in many fields that serve the economic agenda of both countries, notably trade exchange, investment activities, manufacturing, renewable energy projects, transport sector, tourism and others.

This came during a meeting between the Azerbaijani President and the Minister of Economy on the sidelines of the seventh session of the Joint Economic Committee between the two countries in the Azerbaijani capital Baku, where the meeting was attended by Mohammed Ahmed Al Qubaisi, UAE Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mohammed Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary of the Minister of Economy Officials of both sides. During the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev welcomed the UAE delegation, stressing that relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE are witnessing great growth in various fields, and that bilateral and political relations between the two sides are very strong, praising the bonds of friendship, understanding and mutual support between the two countries on many regional and international issues. President Ilham Aliyev stressed that the UAE is an important partner of Azerbaijan in the region, and that cooperation between the two countries has witnessed significant development in many fields, including trade exchange and tourism activities, stressing the strong ties at the cultural and popular level between the two sides. He noted the importance of holding the seventh session of the Joint Economic Committee in Baku, expressing confidence that the Committee will succeed in identifying new sectors and opportunities for partnership in the coming period, as well as strengthening existing cooperation in traditional sectors.

For his part, Engineer Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and welcome of the delegation of the State in Baku, and conveyed to the Azerbaijani President the greetings of the wise leadership of the UAE, pointing out that the common desire of the leaderships of the two countries to strengthen the frameworks of bilateral and economic cooperation is a real engine to develop channels of partnership between Sides. He stressed that the relations between the two countries are growing and that cooperation between them is based on strong bonds of friendship, respect and cultural and civilizational affiliation, which provide fertile ground for moving the partnership of the two countries to new levels in sectors of common interest.

The Minister of Economy pointed out that Azerbaijan enjoys a dynamic economy and represents an important regional destination for trade, investment, tourism and economic cooperation activities for the UAE, stressing that it sees the continuous progress of Azerbaijan in many developmental fields, especially with regard to economy and infrastructure. Promising partnership in many sectors over the coming period, particularly in trade, investment, industry, transportation, renewable energy and tourism. He expressed optimism that the next phase will witness expansion of projects and mutual investments in the markets of both countries and explore new opportunities through clear and coordinated mechanisms and programs, especially through encouraging the private sector in both countries to contribute effectively to the development of current trade and investment activities, according to the outcomes of the Joint Economic Committee.
