Turkish sources speak only of civilian casualties while the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights reports losses among civilians and pro-Turkish rebels.

The car bomb exploded on a market near a service station at rush hour, which explains the high toll of the victims. This is the second attack that strikes the border town north of Raqqa since it was captured by the Turkish army and its deputies on October 13.

The attack was not claimed, but Turkey has been quick to accuse the Kurdish militias that it qualifies as "terrorists".

Attacks have proliferated against Syrian Turkish army auxiliaries since the Ankara offensive to establish a security zone in Syria that is 120 kilometers long and 30 kilometers deep.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, OSDH, reported that three pro-Turkish Syrian militiamen were killed on Saturday when their vehicle was strafed near the border town of Jarablus in Aleppo province.

According to the OSDH and sources close to Damascus, at least six attacks were held this week against pro-Turkish rebels in various parts of northern Syria.
