The lull will have lasted only a few hours. After the reopening of most roads on Wednesday and the lifting of dams that paralyzed the country since October 17, the tension has risen in the early evening.

A group of demonstrators from downtown Beirut cut a main artery that connects the east and west sectors of the capital, in the same place where violent clashes had opposed them the day before to residents of the neighborhood close to Hezbollah and the movement. Shiite Amal.

Same scenes in other cities and regions of the country. In northern Lebanon, the military intervened to prevent the blockage of a major place, firing into the air and firing tear gas before withdrawing. In the middle of the night, the country was paralyzed again.

This renewed tension pushed schools that had decided to reopen after two weeks of suspension of classes to remain closed. Same thing for universities.

These developments came hours after a parade in the streets of Beirut of hundreds of supporters of resigning Prime Minister Saad Hariri , who is also the leader of the largest Sunni party.

The return of tension was preceded by a wave of rumors denied on the intention of the Shiite parties to organize a large demonstration of support for their leaders, or on the establishment of the state of emergency by the army.
