In Syria, following the agreement reached in Sochi between Russia and Turkey, joint patrols between the two armies are due to begin Friday in the area won by Ankara during its military offensive. But since the announcement of the truce, intermittent clashes have occurred.

On October 30, according to Kurdish sources and the Syrian army, fighting has reportedly occurred around Tall Tamr and is still ongoing. A Kurdish news site says Turkish forces and their Syrian counterparts have attacked several villages around the so-called security zone established by the Turks following the offensive dubbed "Source of Peace".

An area 32 kilometers deep, along the Turkish border, whose Kurdish forces have withdrawn, is in any case what Moscow said.

The village of Tall Tamr is less than 32 kilometers from the border. Turkey could therefore have the ambition to take this locality, while respecting the agreement with Moscow . Moreover the Russian military patrolling the area would not have intervened in these fights.

Images shot by a Kurdish news agency show plumes of black smoke over Tall-Tamr, burnt tires and barrels of oil burned to complicate flying over Turkish drones.

Another Kurdish source indicates that Syrian regime soldiers have withdrawn from some military posts on the edge of the area occupied by the Turks. The Syrian Democratic Forces spokesman said that thousands of civilians have fled to the localities of Qamishli and Hassake, returned under the control of the regime.

Sporadic fighting continues, but it is very difficult to gather reliable information from this area.
