“The Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia Anatoly Yanovsky held a meeting of senior officials of trilateral consultations in the Russia-European Union-Ukraine format on the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine to European consumers after 2019,” the ministry said in a press release.

Following the meeting, delegates noted the constructiveness of the talks.

Earlier, the head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, allowed a reduction in gas prices for Ukraine with direct deliveries to 20%.

Igor Yushkov, a leading analyst at the Financial University under the Government of Russia, an expert at the National Energy Security Fund, in an interview with the FAN, explained the statement by the head of Naftogaz Andrei Kobolev about the lack of sense in extending the gas contract with Gazprom under existing conditions.
