Shopping malls in Dubai announced yesterday the launch of promotional offers and price discounts on various products ranging between 20 and 75%, during the period from 18 October to 2 November next, on the occasion of the festival of lights (Diwali).
The centers and Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation said during a press conference yesterday that the offers will include 55 brands of different products, most notably clothing, footwear and furniture, in addition to promotional offers in 35 gold and jewelery shops in Dubai, in addition to special offers at Dubai Duty Free.
Mohamed Firas, Director of the Commercial Registration Department of the Dubai Retail Festival, said: “A number of shopping malls in Dubai have coordinated with the Foundation to offer discounts of 20% to 75% during the period from 18th October to 2nd November. This is on the occasion of the Diwali Festival of Lights, which is part of the calendar of the retail sector in Dubai, reflecting the global nature and multicultural environment of the emirate. '
Firas said during a press conference yesterday to announce the launch of the offers, that «the new offers will include more than 55 brands in several areas, most notably clothing, shoes and cosmetics, in addition to furniture».
He added that «during this period will also be offering promotions in more than 35 stores of gold and jewelry in Dubai markets, as announced by the Dubai Gold and Jewelery Group», stressing that «the offers will have positive effects in stimulating and increasing sales of the retail sector in Dubai».
Stephen Cleaver, Director of Shopping Centers at Al-Futtaim Real Estate Group in Dubai, said: “The Dubai Festival City Center will participate in the promotional and discount offers for Diwali by offering different discounts of 20 to 50%.” "Offers to attract over 1.5 million visitors during the period include 400 stores."

The Point Mall of Nakheel Malls unveiled a 25% discount on 21 stores, as well as the launch of 25% discount on delivery services.
Interiors furniture store also revealed 30 to 50% discounts on its offerings, while Jewelery will be launching gifts worth AED 2,000 and above.
K Corner also offers promotions to give shoppers 25 to 75% discounts on their products, while Sergeant Major, in its branches in City Center Deira and The Dubai Mall, offers customers discounts of up to 60%.
Cash prizes
The promotions will include City Center Deira, with offers to win a number of cash prizes when shopping, as well as giving them a chance to win a weekly prize of AED 25,000 when shopping for AED 250 until 31 October.
Customers at O'Calli Vision Optics will receive discounts of 30 to 50% on specific products, while Octave offers 25 to 75% discounts.
In addition, pregnant women will benefit from the Serafine brand offer, which includes discounts of 30 to 70% in a range of stores, while the Early Learning Center offers discounts on its products from 30 to 75%.
Dubai Duty Free
On the 17th and 18th of October at the Diwali Festival, Dubai Duty Free offers travelers a 20% discount on a wide range of sweets, perfumes, cosmetics and sunglasses.
The Diwali Gold offer will also allow travelers to purchase selected gold coins worth AED 8,000, as well as a discount of AED 5 per gram.

"The total number of events in the retail sector in Dubai for the current year is 18 to promote the activities of the sector in various fields," said Mohammed Firas, Director of the Commercial Registration Department at Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation.
