From the Russian side, the Minister of Energy Alexander Novak and the head of Gazprom Aleksey Miller participate in the meeting, from the Ukrainian side, Minister of Energy and the Environment Aleksey Orzhel and Chairman of Naftogaz Andrei Kobolev. The EU is represented by Maros Shefcovic, Deputy Chairman of the European Commission for Energy Union Affairs.

It was reported that Kiev intends to offer Russia to conclude a new transit contract for 10 years. The current agreement expires at the end of 2019.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Ukraine Aleksey Goncharuk said that negotiations are expected to be difficult.
