Etisalat, in partnership with Ericsson, has launched a “5G Bus” to demonstrate the capabilities of 5G technology through innovative use to promote digital transformation across all sectors, delivering exceptional experiences and versatile uses to benefit 5G customers in the UAE.

In May 2018, Etisalat launched its first 5G commercial network and achieved a breakthrough after making 5G high-speed services available to all customers in the UAE for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Africa in providing a 5G network within an international airport, represented by the new Abu Dhabi International Airport Terminal. In August, Etisalat successfully covered Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower, with a 5G network, which is available for use through various types of technically compatible smartphones.
Etisalat has started offering 5G services to many UAE partners to enable them to enjoy the huge potential of this network. In July 2018, Expo 2020 Dubai became the first major organization in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia to receive 5G services for telecommunications networks.

It also represents an opportunity for industry sectors looking for new models to enable innovation by leveraging future technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, robots that improve efficiency and productivity, as well as developing services and products backed by 5G technologies.
