In Syria, ten pro-Iranian fighters targeted by an unidentified air strike were killed in the east of the country. This is the second time in just over a week that a bombing of this kind has targeted the positions of Iranian militias supporting Bashar al-Assad's regime.

These deadly strikes took place on the night of Monday 16 to Tuesday 17 September. The bombs fell on three positions of the Revolutionary Guards, the elite unit of the Iranian army. These forces of the Islamic Republic intervene in Syria, in support of the power of Damascus.

In eastern Syria, they also include Iraqi militia . The ten fighters killed in the bombings were all of Iraqi nationality.

Israel's involvement?

Like the similar attack that occurred a little over a week ago in this same region, this one also has not been officially identified. But in a context of tensions between Israel on the one hand and the Shiite axis, Lebanese Hezbollah, and Iran on the other hand, the eyes quickly turned to the Hebrew State.

At the time of the first attack, a Hezbollah body quoted " a security source in Syria " blaming the strike on Israel, but the IDF refused to comment.
