Unauthorized login with Mizuho Bank smartphone payment User information not included September 4, 19:54

Mizuho Bank announced that there was an unauthorized access to a payment service system using smartphones, and that over 18,000 cases such as the names and email addresses of affiliated restaurants may have been leaked. Information on smartphone payment users was not included.

According to Mizuho Bank, on July 27, unauthorized access was confirmed to a system that included data from restaurants such as restaurants in the J-Pay Pay smartphone payment service using QR codes.

The system was used for development, not used for actual services, but there was a possibility that 18501 items of information such as the name of the member store, the name of the person in charge, and the e-mail address may have been leaked.

The system that had unauthorized access did not include personal information and payment information for payment services.

Mizuho Bank contacted member stores and alerted them.

Mizuho Bank said, “I apologize for the inconvenience and concern. I will make appropriate efforts to prevent recurrence.”
