China Decrease in imports due to trade friction with the United States, August 8 18:00

China's imports from January to last month decreased 4.5% compared to the same period last year, reflecting the increasing trade friction with the United States and weak domestic demand in China.

According to trade statistics released by the Chinese customs authorities on the 8th, imports from January to last month fell 4.5% on a dollar basis in comparison to the same period last year.

This is a trade friction in which high tariffs are imposed on imported goods from the United States and each other, reflecting a significant decline of 28.3% in imports from the United States and weak domestic demand due to the economic slowdown.

Exports also grew by a modest 0.6%, of which sales to the US fell 7.8%.

Although exports and imports from the United States have declined, China's trade surplus with the United States has increased by approximately 4% compared to the same period last year as imports have declined significantly.

President Trump has shown a policy to expand the target of adding tariffs on imported goods from China starting on the 1st of next month.

With the continued expansion of China's trade surplus with the United States, President Trump is expected to increase pressure on China.
