In a luxurious golf club of US President Donald Trump migrants have worked without valid papers. Guatemala-based Victorina Morales and Sandra Diaz, now legally residing in the US, told The New York Times about their work at the Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster, New Jersey.

Morales was hired in 2013 with fake papers as a housekeeper. She cleaned the bathroom and made the bed of today's president driving sharp verbal attacks against illegal immigration.

The New York Times, citing Morales and Diaz, reports that other migrants in the club were also working without valid papers. Supervisors made sure they did not fly. However, according to the newspaper, there is no evidence that Trump personally or managers of his Trump Organization knew about the events.

Trump rhetoric upsets golf club staff

Donald Trump had talked about "invasion" and "uncontrolled masses" on immigration. He sent soldiers to the border with Mexico and recently used tear gas against undocumented migrants. However, if one looks at the number of illegal immigrants in the USA over the past ten years or so, it has fallen sharply behind the research institute Pew Research Center. According to this, around 7.8 million migrants without valid papers work in the country.

Commenting on the allegations against the Golf Club, the Trump Organization, which bundles the president's family business activities, said it was employing tens of thousands of people - and setting "very strict" standards in recruitment. "If any employee has submitted false documents to circumvent the law, he will be fired immediately."

Morales and Diaz describe Trump as demanding but friendly in the report. Sometimes he tipped 50 or even $ 100.

Recently, however, in view of Trump's aggressive rhetoric against illegal immigrants from Central America, the mood at the golf club's employees has deteriorated, reports Morales. Supervisors would call them "stupid illegal migrants." "We're sick of the insults and insults he talks about, though he knows we're helping him to make some money," Morales said of the president.
