This year, Seoul milk and Namyang dairy farms are raising the price, and there is growing concern that milk prices for café drinks will soon rise.

According to the food industry, Starbucks and Coffee Bean, which receive milk from the No. 1 Seoul milk company, are expected to be concluded by the spring of next year.

As a result, when Seoul Milk requests a price increase for these large café brands, it is expected that the price of beverages such as cafe latte will naturally increase.

A Seoul Milk official said, "Prices are not rising right now because they are contracts for a fixed period of time, but we are fully explaining the reasons for these price hikes."

The café brand, which is the contract partner, will agree to raise the price, which will lead to actual price hikes. But considering the importance of milk supply, which is an important raw material next to bean, it is also observed that it is difficult to refuse the raise demand.

It is reported that the proportion of latte products sold at Starbucks is about 30% of the total coffee beverages, which is 15% of the total coffee beverages sold annually.

One coffee industry official said, "The difficulties of the milk industry are a fact of the past," he said. "Inside the cafe brand, we will be wondering how much the cost hikes will occur when we ask for it."

"If you raise coffee prices, consumers will not easily tolerate them," he said. "It is obvious that the price is one of the factors for price increase, but the biggest cost is rent and labor costs."

Seoul milk has a high share in the milk market, so café brands are not likely to find other suppliers.

Seoul Milk is supplied by 1,801 milk, which is close to one-third of the 5,693 ranch in Korea by 2014.

The annual flow rate of the house is 737 thousand tons, accounting for 33% of 221 million tons of the whole country.

In addition, other companies, such as dairy dairy products and Lotte Foods, who have not raised their prices yet, are in the process of "seeing" that they are weighing whether they are raising prices.

An official from Lotte Foods said, "We know that the price increase has been reviewed internally."

Lotte Food supplies milk to ENJERINESS operated by Lotte GRS and CJ Foodville-based bakery Tous les jours.

Lotte Foods will also have to join the ranks of price hikes if they raise their prices.

Earlier this month, Paris Baguette, which received milk from Seoul Milk, raised the prices of eight milk products including white milk by more than 10 percent.

An official from Paris Baguette said, "We are selling the products from the milk maker in the form of an original equipment manufacturer (OEM)," he said. "We recently explained that the manufacturer raised the supply price due to rising oil prices."
