“We expect that the laying of the onshore part will be carried out at the same accelerated pace in order to start the gas pipeline, as planned, by the end of this year,” he said at a press conference with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Putin noted that the commissioning of the gas route is important for the energy security of both Turkey and southern and southeastern Europe.
Earlier, the Russian leader announced his readiness to extend the “Turkish Stream” to European countries.
