The Authority affirmed that the implementation of the tax refund system for tourists will enhance the UAE's leading position as a major destination on the global tourism map and contribute to strengthening the role and position of various sectors in the country's economic system and increasing its contribution to the country's GDP.

As the operator of the tax refund system for tourists, Planet is entering into agreements with retailers to provide them with the techniques of the system of response and interconnection with the regulations of the Federal Authority for Taxation, Airports, Land and Sea Passports and providing places where tourists apply for tax refund through which the tax can be easily refunded.

During the workshops, traders will be introduced to the steps of registration in the system, the taxes that can be redeemed through the electronic system, and how to get the amounts paid, thus contributing to the implementation of the tax system in the country.

The tourist coming from outside the country will be entitled to tax refund through the system in accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers. Supplying the goods subject to the tax refund system to tourists will be to tourists coming from outside the country within the country when purchasing goods from the supplier. 90 days from the date of supply accompanied by the goods that he purchased and that the related goods are exported by the tourist out of the country within 3 months from the date of supply.

The return of the tax to tourists requires that the goods be purchased from a retailer who participated in the system and that the purchase is done, and that the goods are exported according to the requirements determined by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority.

Traders must meet the participation requirements set by the TRA to participate in the system, provide the necessary documents to claim the tax refund through the system and the tourist must apply for tax refund directly from the operator, which is required to provide refund only upon receipt of evidence convincing and sufficient as specified by the Commission and build The tax will be refunded to the tourist.
